I think that all the new competition from Android and the Windows phone will really help keep the industry moving. I am thankful for what the iPhone has done for smartphones but they will be forced to make changes to their model or else they will fall behind. It seemed like they were dead set against multi-tasking but since all these other devices have come out supporting it, they are now forced to. Based on all the rumors lately, it sounds like some form of multitasking will exist in the 4.0 OS. I think this will also evolved into the hardware. They will be forced to update their screen and think about front facing cameras and stuff like that and all that will benefit will the the consumers. We now have choices of some pretty bad ass smartphones, which is something I have wanted for a very long time!

My prediction is that apple wont copy every cool thing about the Droid, and therefore, stay lame.

Such simple, and expected things like, being able to change the battery (Whats that, your iPhone wont hold a charge anymore, just send it in, go two weeks without a phone at all, and then get a refurbed phone from apple, hope you backed up!), or being able to upgrade the storage space by putting in a bigger flash memory card, or being able to multitask.
Really, you don't want to be able to play music, and play a game at the same time? Or scan some news feeds while listening to some rocking tunes, while that game you were playing is paused, waiting for you to come back.
Yeah, people are probably right when they say the iPhones performance would take too much of a hint, that's what happens when you under power a device with old components. Or, maybe you are worried about battery life? Well, its the display that takes up the lions share of power, so it must suck having an inefficient, low resolution display like that.
Oh well, there are alternatives, but the Steve Jobs kool-aid is pretty strong, are you sure you can break out of the walled garden?
I doubt it.
